On what is missing.

A fragment is not a damaged whole. It is the part that was strong enough to survive, and the reason museums mount them at eye level rather than repairing them is that the break carries as much information as the form.

Every object in this collection is finished as a fragment on purpose. The mount is deliberate and visible — steel rod, plate base, no concealment — because the alternative is pretending the piece was excavated rather than made.
