Paper trees · winter ivory · ships flat

The Folding Forest

A forest you can wrap.

Honeycomb paper trees in winter ivory. They arrive folded flat, so they wrap like a book. Then they open like one, and keep turning until each is a whole round tree on someone else’s windowsill.

01 · Before you give it

Unwrap one here first

We send the trees flat; the paper and ribbon are yours to add. Tap the parcel, or use the button — four steps from a flat parcel to a forest.

Step 1 of 4

It arrives flat, so it wraps like a book.

The paper, ribbon and tag are yours to choose. This is just how they might look.

02 · Who it’s for

Write the tag

Pick where the trees are going and we’ll start the note. Change every word; the name shows up on the parcel above.

No furniture yet. The box will do.
Where are they going?
  • iShip it straight to them: put their address at checkout.
  • ii14-day returns. Under $50 we refund and you keep it.
03 · Your part

Wrap it like a book

We send the trees flat and leave the wrapping to you. One sheet, one ribbon, about as long as the kettle takes.

1One sheetLay it closed on the paper, like a hardcover.
2Two sides, two endsFold the long sides in, then the ends. Nothing to go round, nothing to pad.
3One ribbonTie it across, tag on top. That’s the whole of it.
04 · For whoever opens it

Flat in, flat out

No needles on the rug, nothing to untangle. Four moves, and the last one is the drawer.

1FlatIt arrives flat, closed like a book.
2OpenOpen the covers and the honeycomb fans out.
3RoundKeep turning until the covers meet.
4JanuaryFold it flat again and put it in a drawer.
05 · However they stand them

Three ways to stand three trees

Once it’s theirs, it’s theirs. Three things they might do with it, tried on a shelf.

iThe slope

Tall at the back and off-centre, the small one in front. The eye walks down the hill.

iiThe huddle

All three close at one end, a small light at the other. From the sofa it reads as a little wood.

iiiThe procession

Tall to small along the shelf, evenly spaced. Quiet, a little formal, very tidy.

06 · After everyone has gone

Turn off the big light.

Put any lamp behind them and the honeycomb fills up, cell by cell. It’s the part of the present nobody sees you give: the room gone quiet, the paper still on the shelf, three small trees holding the light.

A lamp, a lit window, the glow from the next room.

07 · Give it with

One present, two small things

Same bag, same address at checkout. Each at its own price; no set, no bundle.

The Lantern with a lit candle inside on an oak side table by the sofa in the evening, its cut-outs throwing small squares of light on the wall The Lantern

One lit thing beside three paper ones. Stand it a little way off and the trees do the rest.

$48
The Paper Star, white with cut-out pattern, against a warm wall The Paper Star

For the window above the sill. Paper over paper, and the evening does the work.

$63
Forever Tulips in Cream, arranged in a vase Forever Tulips

For the table next to them. Nothing in this present needs water.
